1. The USA won the 4x400m mixed relay gold on Saturday, August 19, in Budapest, Hungary, by setting a new track and field world record in the competition's thrilling final event.
2. The team of Justin Robinson, Rosey Effiong, Matthew Boling, and Alexis Holmes finished the race in 3:08.80, beating out Great Britain for silver and Czechia (Czech Republic) for bronze.
3. However, before a dramatic finish, Netherlands had appeared to be the favorite to win the race. After the spectators watched Dutch sprinter Sifan Hassan slip and miss out on the opportunity to win the 10,000-meter gold, Femke Bol, the nation's other top athlete, lost her footing as she approached the finish line.
