Wanda Diamond League Finals 2023
Armand Duplantis began his campaign with a 5.62m clearing on his first attempt, followed by passes of 5.72m and 5.82m on his first try.
He wasn't done, though. The bar being lifted to 6.23m, one centimeter higher than the world record height he set indoors in Clermont-Ferrand in February, came as no surprise, but what came next left supporters in wonder.
He took his run-up, planted the pole, and then flew away with the crowd's encouragement. The bar remained still an unbelievable 6.23 meters above him.
"The limit is very high, and I hope that I can continue to jump well and keep jumping higher than I did today," Duplantis said. But right now, all I can think about is how much I'm loving this moment and what I just done.
